Janome 8900 is a resounding success on the back of MC7700QCP sewing machine. It stitches perfectly and is suitable for large quilting and big home furnishing projects. This machine’s great feature is its ACUFEED FLEX system, which helps you achieve perfection in handling all kinds of fabrics. And this model is truly the case when you get all the bells and whistles. Let’s jump in to look into it in more details, though.

Janome 8900 review

Janome 8900 has an impressive 270 built-in stitches, including alphabet and numbers, which makes this machine very robust on a wide range of stitching projects.

It is also easy to use no matter your skillset due to its easy to operate Control Panel. Not only do the controls make selections more straightforward, but you will also view the choices you make on the LCD screen. The machine has 11 automatic styles for making buttonholes on your fabrics. And if you ever need to re-use a stitch/buttonhole/sewing style, you can save these styles on the machine; it will memorize it.

Threading on this machine is not eye-straining or time wasting due to its smooth automatic threading feature. If you are a “fast” sewer, the 1000 stitches it can make per minute will be a delight to you. The speed controller can help you if you think you are going too fast. You can make stitches as wide as 9mm can on this machine, compared to 7mm for others. So, get ready to stitch wide out of the box.

Even when working in a dark space, you have shadow-free lighting supplied by 5 bright lights. You can choose to set your needle in the up or down position if you pause your sewing, and an automatic thread cutter to trim the threads.

All in all, you can count on some great sewing experience with this machine.

Is Janome 8900 really a good one? Our verdict

This machine will work well for quilting, irrespective of size (it has up to 11″/280mm throat space). You should also consider this model if you are looking for some high-quality stitches and versatility.

It is excellent for making decorative stitches and other jobs you might think “heavy” on other sewing machines.

It is user friendly, easy to set up, and comes with good customer service. On top of it, Janome 8900 works quietly and is very durable. I recommend looking into this model for any seamstress, whether you have lots of experience or just starting out.
